Logic board repair is, together with screen replacement, the most common MacBook repair in our shop. Instead of replacing the whole board, we repair it under a microscope.
When the fault is on the logic board
- MacBook won’t turn on — most often a short circuit or a damaged power circuit.
- MacBook won’t charge — often caused by the USB-C port controller.
- After liquid damage — coffee, water or a soft drink cause corrosion, which damages more and more of the board over time.
- No screen backlight — there is an image, but it’s very dark. The cause can be damage to the backlight circuit on the board.
- Corrosion without a spill — dirt and humidity can do the same in a computer that was never spilled on.
Repair instead of replacement
In newer MacBooks the storage is soldered to the logic board, and the data on it is encrypted and tied to that specific board. Replacing the board therefore means losing all your data for good — photos, documents, projects. The only way to recover it is to repair the board.
And that is exactly what we offer. Logic board repair is our speciality — we repair boards rather than replace them, even after serious liquid damage. Your MacBook comes back working, together with all your data.

FAQ
Can a MacBook logic board be repaired, or does it have to be replaced?
In most cases it can be repaired by micro-soldering. Replacing the whole board is a last resort for us. The scope of the repair depends on the fault — we discuss it after the initial diagnosis.
How much does a logic board repair cost?
Every board is quoted individually. After the initial diagnosis we give you an expected cost range — with electronics, the exact cause often only becomes clear during the repair. If the cost would go beyond the agreed range, we call you first.
My MacBook got wet. What should I do?
Turn it off straight away, unplug the charger and don’t try to switch it on. The sooner it reaches us, the less damage corrosion can do.
Do you repair MacBooks with Apple M1–M4 chips?
Yes — we repair logic boards in MacBooks with Intel processors as well as Apple silicon.
Can data be recovered from a MacBook that won’t turn on?
Yes — by repairing the logic board. In MacBooks with soldered storage it is the only way to recover the data, because replacing the board means losing it permanently. This is exactly what we do.
What warranty do I get?
