Insurance damage report

A damage report for your insurer

Liquid damage or a broken device? We’ll help you with your claim. If you have home or contents insurance, your insurer will usually ask for a technical report — we prepare it for your MacBook, iPhone, iMac or iPad.

Want to deal with your insurer first? You get a report to file your claim with. When you receive compensation and come back to us for the repair, we deduct the cost of the report from the total cost of the repair.

What the report contains

It is a repair shop report prepared after examining the device — a document you attach to your claim with your insurance company.

How it works

  1. 1

    Bring or send the device

Drop in at the shop or send the device by courier. Your policy or claim number will be useful if you already have it.

  2. 2

Initial diagnosis in front of you

We open the device while you watch, look at the damage and talk through what may have happened and the expected scope of the repair.

  3. 3

    Choose an option

A repair with a free report, or the report on its own, which you take to your insurer first.

  4. 4

    File your claim

You send the report — together with the invoice, if we do the repair — to your insurance company as a document for your claim.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of damage can a policy cover?

That depends on your contract. Home and contents insurance often covers electronic equipment, e.g. after liquid damage, a power surge or a drop. You will find the details in the general terms and conditions of your policy.

Can I write the report myself from a template?

Insurers usually expect a document from a repair shop that has examined the damaged device: with a description of the fault, its cause, a repair cost estimate and photos. A template filled in by yourself is usually not enough — that’s why we prepare the report after examining the device.

Which insurers can I submit it to?

To the one that holds your policy — e.g. PZU, Warta, Allianz, Generali, Ergo Hestia or any other insurance company. The report is a document for your claim, independent of the insurer.

Does the report guarantee compensation?

No — the insurer decides on the payout based on your policy. The report is a reliable document describing the device, the damage and the scope of the repair, which insurers usually require for this kind of claim.

What if I order a paid report first and then decide on the repair?

If you come back to us for the repair, we deduct the cost of the report (PLN 300 net) from the total cost of the repair. If you don’t, you only pay for the report.

Which devices does the report cover?

The Apple devices we repair: MacBook laptops, iMac and Mac mini computers, iPhones, iPads and AirPods Max headphones.
