iPad Air 5 not charging — USB-C charging port replacement

Old and new USB-C charging port of an iPad Air 5

An iPad Air 5 with a damaged USB-C charging port.

In this model the port sits on a separate flex cable, so it is replaced as a whole. In the first photos the old port lies next to the new one, and the next ones show the new port in place.

After the replacement the tester shows 8.6 V at 3 A — the iPad charges fast again.
